Testimonials

Team Savage - Vancouver Island

Steve Savage and his family have been involved in the Grape Escape MS Bike Tour from its beginning. He has been diagnosed with MS for four years, which has meant giving up his passion and profession as a commercial pilot. Steve, Florence, and their four children have always been avid cyclists. Steve has had to slow down his active lifestyle, but he still looks forward to the bike tour. "Participating in the bike tour is a positive family activity for us," says Steve. "Most importantly it's a way to pass on something to those who really suffer from MS."

Caitlin Baker Gore - RONA Team - Duncan

"I was incredibly impressed by the organization, the friendliness, and the overall positive attitude of everyone involved in the MS Grape Escape Bike Tour. We rode through beautiful countryside, visited wineries, and saw the work of talented artists. All this was inconsequential to the feeling I got when I listened to a young man of my own age speak of his struggle with MS and his drive to live life to the utmost fullest. The surroundings faded drastically compared to seeing a daughter riding for her mum. It was in those moments that the purpose for the ride really hit home; we were all gathered for one underlying reason. There were people of every walk of life, color, and age; but all were taking a part in the fight for a cure. The able bodied rode for the weak, and the weak encouraged those of us who rode. I was inspired by the energy that infused the event and wouldn't hesitate to do it again. I have never experienced anything like that before, and I will remember it fondly for a long time to come."

"This bike tour is turning into one of the highlights of my summer! I train for it, gather pledges and then have a super weekend of laughter, fitness and feeling good about doing good."

"Recognition of personal and team effort is something the M.S. Society has always been great at doing. The proof is in the increased participation and donations."

"It is so well organized…in such a lovely location and it’s so much fun to do this ride with friends and co-workers. The wine, food, home-made snacks and just how well-organized the entire event is make it a real joy to participate in. And [the MS Society] make us feel so good about giving for a good cause. I personally have had a blast the 2 times I have done this tour."
