• Please be sure your bike
is in good condition before you arrive. If you have not been riding
regularly, have your bike tuned up before your leave home. • Do your best to train for the distance you plan on riding.
Even a few rides in preparation will make your weekend more enjoyable. • Ride for enjoyment, at a safe and comfortable speed within
your skill level. • Remember all cyclists must obey the same laws as motorists. • Stop at all stop lights and stop signs • Signal all turns and stops • Ride with, not against traffic • Ride in a single file and stay to the far right • Sleeping bag and pillow (for dorms and tents) • Do not wear a walkman or radio • Avoid drafting and pacing lines • Avoid tight groups - if one cyclist has a problem, everyone
has a problem • If you need to pull over, do so carefully and in consideration
of those traveling behind you. • Use hand signals to point our road hazards to those behind
you - broken glass, pot holes etc. • Keep energy levels high by drinking plenty of water. Eat
before you are hungry, drink before you are thirsty and rest before
you are tired! • In the case of an emergency or injury please call St. John
Ambulance for assistance (phone number will be provided at the start
of the event). Remember, in the event of a serious injury call 911. • Our tour features stops at various wineries at which eligible riders may choose to sample some of the wines; however, all cyclists are required to abide by the Motor Vehicle Act which limits the consumption of alcohol and concurrently operating a moving vehicle. The MS Society requests all riders to act responsibly during the tour and accepts no liability for those who do not.
